Since 2008 SamKnows has been working with consumers, academics, industry and governments to build the much-needed global standard for Internet performance measurement.

Sign-up here to contribute to this global initiative, test American broadband and put your own ISP to the test. By joining the SamKnows community, each volunteer gets a free SamKnows measurement box which runs a series of tests to accurately measure home internet performance.

For the first time, you can see comprehensive statistics on your Internet performance, equal to the data your ISP will have on its network, but purely from the point of view of your home. Use this data to trouble-shoot problems with your internet connection and monitor the performance of your ISP.

Volunteers also have access to the SamKnows reporting suite which includes a monthly email summarising performance, an iPhone/Android app for monitoring tests on the move and a detailed web-based reporting system for more in-depth analysis and troubleshooting.
